THERMAL PROCESS TECHNOLOGY LEADER

Por qué te necesitamos? Saint-Gobain Research North America is looking for a thermal process technology leader to join our growing Ceramics R&D team.

The Thermal Process Technical leader would join the Process Technology Team with the mission to create a world-class Thermal Process Lab that meets the growing needs of our customer base.
They will be responsible for operations in the lab as well as upgrading our thermal processing equipment.
In addition, as part of the center-wide renovation projects, lead the consolidation of the various high-temperature thermal process tools into a center of excellence.
Must have the ability to apply manufacturing operational aspects in an R&D environment.
This role would also oversee the technical and operational aspects of the powder processing tools.
A plus would be the ability to move the lab from analog outputs to digital outputs via data acquisition upgrades.
Responsibilities.
Provide the technical leadership of the thermal processing equipment & process know-how ensuring the operational and safety aspects of high-temperature furnace processes.
Utilizes expertise to recommend technical direction to lab users/customers to help guide their thermal processing experiments.
Manage resources and personnel including but not limited to training users, ensuring run quality & safety.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans and robust troubleshooting guides to ensure equipment uptime and quality.
Uses analytical and problem-solving techniques and know-how to identify root causes & best practices and utilizes engineering principles to suggest variations in approach.
Develop & manage project plans which requires equipment planning and execution of Capital equipment upgrades and installation, including an understanding of electrical, Plumbing & HVAC needs.
Development of a center-wide operational plan for all furnaces (including leading the consolidation project of future co-location of the Ceramics Hub).
Create a multi-year plan to upgrade the analog process to the current Factory network, Ignition connections, and data storage.
Manage sample flow in and out of the lab, active management of the lab backlog, interpret results, and effectively communicate the results.
Collaborates with all business unit colleagues including those not familiar with thermal processing as well as the soft skills to ensure best practices are always followed.
¿Es este trabajo para ti? BS with 7+ or Master's with 5+ in Ceramic or Mechanical Engineering in lieu of a degree of 10 + years in Ceramic Sintering & Powder processing is required.
5+ years' experience with operation & maintenance of high temperature furnaces & powder process 5+ years Understanding of complex mechanical systems and electrical systems in high temp processes.
Know- how of how cooling towers work and the emergency procedures for failure.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and thermal issues in complex process systems & put systems in place to prevent issues in the future.
3 + years of project leadership including project management.
