About the role What you need to know.
The Claims Complex Dir Sr reports to the Country Head of Claims.
The Claims Complex Dir Sr is in charge and leads the Commercial Lines team which encompasses at least Property, Energy, Marine and Homeowners lines of business.
The team comprises a group of 10 to 14 FTE´s, a scope of control of 1 to 2 or 3.
The Claims Complex Dir Sr ensures cases are handled correctly, according to internal guidelines, policy terms and defined KPI´s.
The Claims Complex Dir ensures workflow of analysts and team members are equilibrated, according to standards and according to staffing model indicators.
Keeps close communication with the Head of Claims and Regional Product Leaders to ensure technical consistency.
Promotes application of anti-fraud red flags to maintain an appropriate level of referrals to SIU unit according to risk exposure and size of portfolio.
Is the main point of contact for multi-National and service claim matters, becoming one of main liaison and interlocutor with other AIG claims units around the world.
Manages large claims with exposures beyond US$ 1 M according to internal guidelines and in conjunction with regional product leaders and regional senior management.
Filters technical complexity to correctly and timely escalate matters to Head of Claims, regional product leaders and ensure client servicing is addressed by properly managing expectations of key stake holders like client´s key contacts (risk managers, finance directors, etc.) or major brokers key claims contacts.
Supports client facing activities.
Supports technical training activities to junior claim analysts and reporting claim supervisors.
What we’re looking for.
Academic.
Business and/or Engineering Experience.
5+ years of experience in the management of property, energy, marine claims for commercial and personal lines.
+5 years of experience in the management of international programs.
+5 years of experience in the handling of large / complex property, energy, marine claims.
+3 years in the management of claim handler teams.
Along with the above expertise required for the job, the following skills are required.
Critical.
attention to detail, analytical, organization, client service, sense of urgency.
Soft.
delegation, coaching and providing positive feedback.
English fluency.
oral and written of at least 80 %.
