POSITION SUMMARY The Accounting Specialist provides senior level financial support as well as manage all special obligation duties, assist in the monthend and quarterend close processes, prepare journal entries and assist Sales Controller with various month end activities.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Create and send monthly report to rep for VCU.
Process monthly Special Obligations.
Schedule and create process documentation of new Special Obligations
Review Special Obligations Accrual Account, prepare JEs and reconcile account monthly.
Provide costing data needed for monthly reconciliation of rings due to US Customs
Prepare monthly draw interface as well as draw analysis for sales rep offices.
Complete month end interface and analyze and clear GL errors to help month end close process.
Prepare and process journal entries and support schedules for various processes and other recurring activities during month end close such as USBC, Merchandise Collateral, Shipping Fee Credits and PCA Credits to sales force.
Process sales accounting form reimbursements for the yearbook sales reps.
Send High School and College Reporting to management on a monthly basis.
Build andor assist with AS400 queries.
Provide School Year end JDE reports of sales for independent sales representatives.
Run Graphics Inventory, Negative Commission and Ring Return reports at month end for rep distribution.
Prepare quarterly recon for PrePaid Merchandise Gift Program
Assist with an AR research as needed by Sales Controller
Assist with 1099 preparations.
Assist with preparing audit schedules for external auditor requests.

EducationExperience
Bachelors degree in accounting or 34 years of accounting experience.
Proficiency with MS Office applications Word, Outlook, Excel excel proficiency required pivot tablesformulaslook ups, AS400 queries and Microsoft Outlook.
JD Edwards, Baan and NetSuite are a requirement.
Proactive and forward thinking with research skills and ability to build relationships.
Organized, detail oriented, flexible, and able to handle multiple assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
