SR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER (VB.NET & C#)

Your Job Georgia-Pacific’s Software Engineering & Integration team (SE&I) is seeking a Software Engineer to join the team in Guadalajara, MX. You will work with a global team of engineers delivering software solutions that support GP’s Wood & Fiber Supply (WFS) team. WFS sources lumber on behalf of our facilities, which is a critical input to all our manufacturing processes. The suite of applications maintained by the team support corporate and facility-specific capabilities, providing a variety of experiences and opportunities to obtain knowledge of our business and impact WFS’ performance. All engineers are encouraged to contribute to our repository of enterprise reusable assets. Our Team GP’s Software Engineering & Integration team’s core competency is designing, building, delivering, and maintaining custom software solutions. We recently initiated our transformation journey, creating functions and capabilities that enable engineers to have major impacts on GP’s business performance. We seek to build functionality once, so engineers are encouraged to re-use their peers’ work and modify then scale it to meet new use cases. What You Will Do • Engage with customers, partners, and peers to build and deliver custom software solutions that support high-value business outcomes. • Participate in support for critical applications, which includes consulting, responding to tickets, and break/fix execution. • Provide recommendations for technical spikes that reduce technical debt and enable faster feature delivery. • Lead code review sessions with peers and provide feedback to achieve desired code quality outcomes. • Participate in backlog refinement with team members. • Contribute to the team’s technical and domain knowledge bases. • Contribute reusable assets to GP’s enterprise solution accelerators repository. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) • Experience developing software applications using VB.NET or C# Web Forms or Windows Forms . • Experience with SQL Server database development (design, tables, views, stored procedures). • Experience supporting critical applications. • Experience working in an agile delivery team . • Experience developing APIs adhering to decoupled architecture concepts. • Familiarity with DevOps concepts. • Experience building and supporting applications built on AWS . What Will Put You Ahead • Experience developing applications using React . • Experience developing mobile applications. • Experience with AS400 or Db2 databases. • Experience developing applications in a distributed delivery environment. • Experience integrating applications with PLCs . • Experience writing unit tests for critical functionality.
