SENIOR MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

SUMMARY   Sr Maintenance Engineer is responsible for coordinate Maintenance Technical Leaders, technicians and tasks for developing and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with products specifications and quality standards of the department as well as ownership and up time of equipment.
Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, cycle times, methods and controls.
Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Automated equipment installation, preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
Sr Maintenance Engineer must also organize which projects should be tackled first based on their importance and make sure enough equipment, materials, time and personnel are available to complete them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What you will do) Prepares, review and approve specifications and quotations for labor, tooling and equipment to support the business unit requirements.
Participates in concurrent engineering design reviews and evaluates and approves drawings, routings, specifications and other documents.
Evaluates and solves production problems associated with equipment, maintenance, and/or manufacturing methods.
Implements root cause analysis and engages manufacturing engineers and maintenance technicians in problem solving methods.
Assure maintenance programs to keep machinery and tooling in optimal conditions and results.
Develop budget and assure effectives cost in maintenance activities.
Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead, overtime and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.
Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships Work with other departments to develop and improve current process equipment and systems to deliver change and improve key metrics Analyze daily equipment metrics and use data driven decision to improve processes and generate reports to document Develop a monthly report with Tooling & Industrial departments to review operational accomplishments and opportunities (General CIP tracking).
Track and perform on-going analysis to ensure process and financial objectives are met (CapEx -OpeEx) Provides leadership and support of lean manufacturing initiatives to maximize asset utilization and plant performance Interfaces directly with vendor technical support groups as necessary in the course of providing maintenance and improvement of manufacturing equipment Selects, purchases and manages inventory of all necessary maintenance parts and supplies – both expense and capital Collaborates with corporate engineering on capital projects (design and implementation, budget preparation) and process improvement projects Meet all ISO requirements applied.
Lean maintenance champion.
Implementation, Measure, Track, Control and Improvement.
Responsible of leading BPD II goals and results, SAFETY, PEOPLE, QUALITY, COST, DELIVERY, as well as all EMS department initiatives.
Responsible of leading OEE plant improvement, as well as all manufacturing and maintenance key metrics as MTTR, MTBF, etc.
Proficient in environmental regulation such ISO .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS  Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Preferred) Experience 10 years in heavy equipment maintenance and engineering on metal stamping presses (progressive and transfer), automated feed systems, automated transfers systems, all peripheral equipment such spot welders, specific knowledge of interlocking (non-welded) metal forming and connection processes is required, conveyors, fixtures and tools.
Knowledge of tooling and fixtures require for steel cutting, mechanical power press and roll forming, as well as the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
Significant experience and understanding of PLC, pneumatic and motor controls in a continuous process system, mechanical electrical and hydraulics systems.
Experience in uptime improvements, scrap reduction processes and ownership of area from and process delivery standpoint.
Must have understanding of steel properties for Stamping Tools, replacement components and repairs.
Technical knowledge, use and purpose or machinery such as Mills, Grinders, CNC’s, Wire, Lathe.
English 80% or higher MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) Support all CapEx activities (annual plan, projects, etc) Autocad, Solid Works, GD&T, Experience whit high tonnage presses (150 to tons) Must understand and implement EMS and 5S programs.

Manage a monthly budget to EHP standards.
Monitor all Min - Max inventories for equipment.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization Must be able to manage finances effectively and possess strong leadership skills, must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge in energy management systems ISO (Significant Energy Uses, Energy Policy, objectives and actions plans).
Ability to troubleshoot and repair if necessary highly automated conveyor system Ability to read and interpret building blueprint and detailed drawings Working knowledge of conveyor electrical and mechanical framework with extensive knowledge in PLC, Modules, HMI, Drivers, Sensors and Automated equipment, coordinate renovations or retrofits Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations Knowledge of facility electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulics The ability to build and maintain networks that provide internal and external customer service This list of responsibilities is only a reference and is not limited to any other activity related to  work that your supervisor requires either by structural changes or company priorities.
